Quality Assurance Engineer
Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for quality? We're seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure our client's products meet the highest standards. This role is not a QA Systems Controller or Manager position - instead, it requires someone with the technical capability to interpret customer specifications, technical drawings, and design codes, and to translate these into Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), quality plans, and procedures. Strong knowledge of material certification and material standards is essential.
What You'll Do
Develop, implement, and manage Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), quality plans, directives, procedures, and instructions.
Review and interpret customer specifications, technical specs, and design codes to ensure compliance.
Oversee quality control and assurance processes, ensuring contract requirements are fully met.
Review enquiry documents and prepare QA/QC documentation for quotations.
Manage contract quality plans with daily updates on live QPs.
Control Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) and Engineering Change Requests (ECRs).
Verify material certifications and approve supplier ITPs and procedures.
Ensure compliance with relevant standards (ASME, API, ISO, GS3001, PED, IBR).
Monitor sub-contract deliveries for progress, compliance, and deadlines.
Maintain weld and welder qualifications where required.
Work closely with Sales, Operations, Production, and Manufacturing teams.
Lead or contribute to quality improvement projects and audits.
What You'll Bring
5+ years of experience in a Quality Assurance Engineering role.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and design codes.
Experience preparing ITPs, quality plans, and procedures.
Strong understanding of material certification and industry standards.
Knowledge of aerospace, defence, MoD/BAE/Rolls Royce specifications.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Full UK passport (single nationality) and valid driving licence.
Desirable Skills/Experience
Familiarity with GS3001, ISO 9001/14001, IBR/PED standards.
Auditing experience (internal and external).
Knowledge of PCN/SNT standards.
Experience with Epicor (job planning).
Security clearance (BPSS, CTC, SC, or DV).
