Quality Engineer / QC Inspector

Location: AWE, Burghfield (Hybrid)
Rate: £48 per hour (Outside IR35) + expenses
Contract: 12 months
Start: ASAP
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday
We are currently seeking an experienced Quality Engineer / QC Inspector to provide QA/QC support across a range of projects at AWE, Burghfield. This is a long-term contract opportunity offering excellent rates and flexible hybrid working.

The Role

You will support projects from initial kick-off through to final completion, ensuring all quality requirements are met in line with established standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Review and accept procedures and documentation in line with QC1 requirements
Carry out QC inspections in accordance with approved Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
Ongoing review and final acceptance of Life Time Records (LTRs)
Perform final release inspections
Witness testing activities as required
Attend project, quality, and stakeholder meetings
Provide robust QA/QC support across multiple project stages

Essential Requirements

Active SC Clearance (minimum - must be live)
Proven experience in nuclear and/or defence environments
Strong background in Quality Engineering and QC Inspection
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within regulated environments
