Quality Engineer – Systems Based (Manufacturing)

I'm working with a company based in Reading that is looking to recruit a Systems-Based Quality Engineer to join their team. This is a permanent position offering up to £50,000, depending on experience.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and improving the company’s quality management systems, ensuring compliance with ISO standards, and supporting production and engineering teams to drive continuous improvement across all processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and develop the company’s Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring ongoing compliance with ISO 9001 and other applicable standards.
• Conduct internal audits, lead external audits, and manage corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Analyse quality performance data, identify trends, and implement improvement initiatives.
• Investigate non-conformances and customer complaints, implementing robust root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Work closely with production and engineering teams to improve product and process quality.
• Lead quality initiatives and support the delivery of lean and continuous improvement projects.
• Train and support colleagues on quality procedures and standards.
• Liaise with suppliers regarding quality issues and audits when required.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience working in a Quality Engineer role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Strong understanding and hands-on experience with ISO 9001 and quality management systems.
• Excellent knowledge of root cause analysis, FMEA, 8D, and other problem-solving tools.
• Confident leading audits and working with external certification bodies.
• Relevant qualifications in Quality Management, Engineering, or similar.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and QMS software.
