We are seeking a meticulous and skilled Quality Engineer to join a leading company in the Manufacturing and Production sector. This permanent role, based in Ellesmere Port, involves maintaining high standards of quality assurance and compliance within the organisation.

Description

As the Quality Engineer you will be tasked with the following;

· Be a key team member; working cross functionally across Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Design, Supply Chain and Purchasing, supporting manufacturing readiness, to achieve on time, customer order dates.

· Ensure the relevant quality controls are implemented at the correct part of a process, to deliver the required design data and customer requirements.

· Supports supplier operational, technical, health, safety and environmental audits in line with supply chain audit calendar.

· Driving supplier quality improvements / coaching suppliers to improve capability.

· Working closely and proactively with supply chain to anticipate and react to any potential high impact quality issues, that may affect quality and customer delivery schedule.

· Involved in the early stages of our new product development / maturity gates and using APQP principles to have the maximum impact on product robustness and validating APQP activities have been carried out to a satisfactorily level; to meet customer requirements.

· Supporting the creation of PFMEA's and responsible for the creation of pre-launch and production control plans.

· Supporting all production builds / quality loops, capturing build issues relating to process, parts and design and driving the quality improvement roadmap to achieve the required launch metrics.

· Champions / leads problem solving activities for internal quality issues, supplier quality, non-conformance and customer complaint investigations, ensuring issues are robustly contained and fixed and that findings are documented, reported and escalated appropriately.

· Monitor production scrap and RFT and drive improvements.

· Cultivate a quality-first mindset across the team.

· Applying lean principles / tools / methodologies to thinking and processes.

· Capturing lessons learnt from current production / supply chain and launch and driving prevent re-occurrence and improvement actions to standards / procedures.

Profile

A successful Quality Engineer should have:

· Quality experience across current production, supply chain and launch quality essential.

· An analytical mindset with a passion for quality, problem-solving and continuous improvement.

· Self-driven, flexible, adaptable, organised, uses initiative, who can work at pace under pressure

· Awareness / working knowledge of AS9100 and Part 21 Sub Part G and J requirements.

· Training or experience in FMEA, MSA, APQP, or PPAP is highly advantageous.

· Proficiency in Excel and other tools; automotive sector experience is a bonus.

· Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to engage at all levels.
