Location: County Durham Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday Salary: DOE (Depending on Experience)
The Company Our client, a leading organisation within the [manufacturing/engineering] sector, is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join their team based in County Durham. The Role As a Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring that processes, systems, and products meet the highest quality standards. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement, ensure compliance with industry standards, and support both production and customer requirements.
Responsibilities

Develop and maintain quality assurance processes and systems
*
Carry out audits, inspections, and testing to ensure compliance with ISO standards and client requirements
*
Identify and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address quality issues
*
Analyse quality data and present findings to support business improvements
*
Support new product introductions by defining quality requirements and validation processes
*
Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving activities using recognised methodologies (e.g. 8D, FMEA, Six Sigma)
*
Produce and maintain quality documentation and reports for internal and external stakeholders
Candidate Requirements
*
Previous experience in a Quality Engineer role within manufacturing/engineering
*
Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 (IATF 16949 or similar advantageous)
*
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
*
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
*
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with quality management systems
*
Relevant qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related discipline (preferred but not essential if experience is strong)
