Quality Engineer –Glasgow – £19.30 p/h + Overtime + Pension + 33 Days Holiday – Permanent Role – Day & Night Shifts
Aspirare are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a skilled Quality Inspector to join a high-performing engineering team based in Glasgow. This role is critical to ensuring that all quality inspection functions, including CMM operation, are performed to a high standard across the production process. Key Responsibilities:
* Perform Goods In, First Off, Running, Pre & Post Subcon, and Final Inspection
* Set up and operate CMMs (coordinate measuring machines) and conduct manual inspections
* Maintain accurate inspection records and calibration of measuring equipment
* Support and process non-conforming products and manage customer returns
* Carry out First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and maintain high-quality documentation
* Liaise with production teams on drawing interpretation and identify critical dimensions
* Ensure compliance with AS9100, HSE policies, and internal Zero Defect (ZD) activities
* Actively contribute to 6S and Continuous Improvement initiatives
Requirements:
* Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Proficient in manual measuring equipment and first principle inspection methods
* CMM awareness including set-up and reporting (PC-DMIS knowledge desirable)
* Understanding of equipment calibration, manual handling, and lifting gear
* Computer literate with knowledge of quality systems and documentation standards
* Awareness of HSE regulations and AS9100 quality standards
* Familiarity with problem-solving tools and a proactive approach to continuous improvement
Desirable (Not Essential):
* Auditing experience within a similar engineering/production environment
* Knowledge of aerospace or defence manufacturing standards
* Critical parts awareness and advanced CMM (PCDMIS) usage
