Key Responsibilities for the Quality Engineer:
- Maintaining High Standards: Monitor and enhance production quality, lead corrective actions, and ensure manufacturing standards are consistently met.
- Customer Quality Liaison: Investigate issues, host inspections, support audits, and manage product recalls.
- Product Development Support: Partner with design and development teams to ensure new products are robust and easy to build.
- Supplier Collaboration: Work with suppliers to maintain material quality, resolve issues, and track performance.
- System Management: Help maintain and improve management systems, including internal audits and compliance with recognised standards.
Skills and Experience Required for the Quality Engineer:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a quality-focused engineering role within manufacturing.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong background in inspecting electrical, electronic, and mechanical components against technical drawings/specifications.
- Analytical Skills: Confident using quality investigation tools and techniques to identify root causes and deliver sustainable solutions.
- Inspection Equipment: Skilled with micrometers, verniers, and other measuring tools.
- Interpersonal Skills: Comfortable working with customers, suppliers, and colleagues at all levels to resolve technical quality issues.
- Data Analysis: Able to analyse data, present findings clearly, and drive process improvements.
- Security Clearance: Eligible to gain relevant security clearance.
