Role Overview
The Quality Inspection Engineer is responsible for ensuring products and processes meet required quality standards and customer expectations. This role includes carrying out inspections, documenting results, identifying defects, and supporting corrective and preventive actions.
The Quality Inspection Engineer also contributes to maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS), assisting with audits, investigating customer complaints, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake inspections according to established inspection and control processes.
Document inspection results accurately.
Identify and document defective or suspect products.
Maintain inspection equipment and ensure proper calibration.
Identify deviations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Investigate customer complaints and ensure resolution.
Assist the Quality Manager during internal and customer audits.
Maintain and archive controlled documents and records in a timely manner.
Communicate inspection results effectively with production teams.
Collaborate with team members and maintain a professional working environment.
Ensure processes required for the Quality Management System (QMS) are implemented and maintained.
Promote awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization.
Ensure all staff are inducted into QMS requirements related to their roles and responsibilities.
Coordinate continual improvements to the QMS, recording and reviewing corrective and preventive actions.
Ensure that products and services provided are fit for purpose, consistent, and meet both internal and external requirements.
Assess the effectiveness of changes made within the QMS.
Qualifications & Skills
The ideal candidate will possess:
Proven experience in quality inspection, quality assurance, or a similar role within manufacturing and engineering.
Understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS), ideally ISO 9001 or equivalent standards.
Familiarity with inspection methods, measuring tools, and equipment calibration.
Strong documentation and reporting skills with high attention to detail.
Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to work independently and in a team.
Effective communication skills for interaction with production teams, management, and customers.
