THE BUSINESS
Our client, based in Gateshead, Tyne & Wear is a subsidiary of a global business who are a diversified design, engineering and assembly specialist who provide full system solutions across a wide range of industries including health, medical, aerospace and logistics. They are also recognised as one of the world’s leading automotive suppliers. They have a clear vision and commitment to deliver world-class sustainable solutions that empowers their clients to succeed. They place the customer at the centre of everything they do.
They produce various small components and parts that are used within the automotive industry. These include plastic parts, wiring harnesses/cable assemblies, connectors, seals and clamps to name a few.
As their portfolio is quite broad, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a quality systems technician to join their team.
THE ROLE
You will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System. Your role involves supporting and driving compliance, conducting audits, analysing quality data and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Lead 8D investigations for non-conformances, customer complaints and drive effective corrective actions
Perform and support first-off inspections, prepare ISIR/PPAP documentation
You will ensure product and process conformity is in line with customer requirements for sample submissions and new product introductions
You will support the implementation and maintenance of the ISO 9001:2015 QMS
Monitor and report on key quality performance metrics (KPIs)
You will plan and conduct internal audits
You will support third-party certification audits as required
You will maintain accurate document control and quality records
As a result, you will deliver quality-related training to employees
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support quality initiatives
Support 5S and continuous improvement activities
THE PERSON
You will have a Level 3 Diploma (or equivalent) in Quality, Engineering, or related field.
Experience in a quality/engineering role within a manufacturing or engineering environment
ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor certification
Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 QMS and related quality standards
Experience in auditing and quality systems management
Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
Clear and confident communicator with strong teamwork skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools
Experience with document control, non-conformance management, and audits
Familiarity with first-off inspections
ISO 14001 awareness ()
First Aid or Fire Safety training (beneficial)
Six Sigma or Lean awareness (helpful but not essential)
