Quality Engineer
CRP Group are working with a growing business based in Yorkshire that builds various automotive vehicles. Every vehicle is different, and every build must meet strict quality and legal standards.
The Role:
We’re looking for a Quality & Homologation Engineer to join the engineering team. You’ll help make sure the vehicles meet both legal regulations and high internal quality standards. You’ll work closely with the design and production teams, checking builds, fixing problems, and making sure the paperwork is all correct for inspections and approvals.
This role is ideal for someone with automotive or vehicle conversion experience, who is confident with problem-solving, knows how to follow regulations, and can keep detailed records.
What You’ll Do:
Quality:

Check vehicles and components to make sure they meet company and legal standards.
*
Investigate any quality issues – find out what went wrong and help fix the problem.
*
Use tools like Fishbone Diagrams, Pareto charts, or 5 Whys to get to the root of problems.
*
Help improve quality processes and paperwork on the workshop floor.
*
Work with quality systems like QMS or JIRA to record and track quality issues.
Homologation (Legal Compliance):
*
Make sure vehicles meet UK and EU legal requirements, including IVA (Individual Vehicle Approval) and type approval.
*
Prepare the documents needed for DVSA, VCA, or other bodies.
*
Keep up to date with vehicle regulations and make sure we follow the latest rules.
*
Support engineers and production with advice on building vehicles that meet all compliance needs.
Data & Reporting:

Use Excel, Minitab, or other tools to spot trends and track performance.
*
Write clear reports and keep good records for inspections and audits.
Teamwork:
*
Work with design, production, and aftersales teams to make sure vehicles are right first time.
*
Support new product development by making sure designs meet quality and legal needs.
*
Help train others on quality and compliance where needed.
