The Role – R&D Engineer
We have an excellent opportunity for an ambitious R&D Engineer to join a prominent aerospace engineering business in Gloucestershire.
This is an in-depth hands-on role contributing to the satisfactory design, analysis, development, testing, and qualification of aerospace products.
You'll be joining a fantastic team in a purpose-built modern facility where you'll be able to make a real impact to the future of the business.
Duties – R&D Engineer
Contributing to the development of Electro-mechanical, Electro-hydraulic and Mechatronic control components/ and components.
Mathematical modelling with MathCAD, MatLab/Simulink, FEA
3D design and 2D drawing creation of concept ideas.
Research into aerospace materials and their properties
Develop understanding of common machining and fabrication processes
Development of assembly techniques
Development of qualification test methods
Compilation of clear and concise analysis and test reports
Presenting technical details to the customers at all levels
Background – R&D Engineer
Degree or HNC in a relevant engineering discipline.
Design competency (Preferably Siemens NX or similar)
Experience with analysis tools such as MathCAD, MatLab and FEA
Appreciation of different manufacturing techniques (Machining, assembly, testing)
Team player with strong communication skills
