As a Software Engineer, You Can Expect To Be Involved InEngineering Software solutions – working with prototypes and proof of concepts.Producing accessible, responsive, rich front-end UI using TypeScript in the React Native.Integrating with cloud services and back-end systems (ie, APIs, IDAM).Working in multidisciplinary engineering teams across the whole software development life cycle.We look for people who are passionate around solving problems through innovation and engineering practices. You\'ll be required to apply your depth of knowledge and expertise to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, as well as partner with stakeholders to stay focused on common goals.Our Ideal Candidate3+ years\' experience building apps with React NativeProficiency in TypeScript (JavaScript also valued)Experience consuming REST APIs in mobile appsSolid understanding of version control such as GitSolid experience with testing React applications using JEST and vitestStrong collaboration and communication skillsA proactive, self-directed approach to engineering challengesWould be great, but not essential if you also had:Experience in native mobile development for either Android or iOS platforms.Familiarity with Playwright end to end testing.Experience using Storybook or component-driven development practices.Familiarity with mobile performance optimization and accessibility standards.Exposure to Azure (or other cloud services like AWS)Understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe)Awareness of TDD/BDD workflowsWill BeCurious about technology and adaptable to new technologies.Agile-minded, optimistic, passionate, and pragmatic about delivering valuable software to customers.Someone who puts quality first and has a passion for good design and clean code.Willing to support colleagues, leveraging their experience & knowledge.What’s In It For You?Skipton values work/life balance and we are proud to support hybrid and flexible working, where possible.
