Our client, a leading service provider in the Refrigeration sector, is actively seeking a Refrigeration Engineer to cover sites in the Coventry/Leicester area. This key position involves planned and reactive maintenance across various customer locations, ensuring all refrigeration equipment and HVAC systems containing refrigeration circuits are effectively serviced and repaired.
The Role
As a Refrigeration Engineer, you’ll:
Prioritize and execute maintenance and repair work to meet agreed timescales and response times for refrigeration and HVAC equipment.
Complete PPM schedules accurately and promptly, ensuring all technical and compliance paperwork is up to date and in line with procedures.
Participate in an out-of-hours standby rota, taking responsibility for arranging cover during holidays or unforeseen circumstances.
Diagnose non-repairable faults quickly, advising your Line Manager and recommending suitable replacements.
Respond positively and promptly to service call requests, assessing job requirements, and carrying out necessary repairs to high standards, cost-effectively, and in compliance with Health and Safety policies.
Order and fit parts as per company procedures, notifying the helpdesk of task conditions upon completion.
Attend training courses to keep pace with technical and business developments, including mandatory online training modules.
Maintain excellent communication with clients and colleagues, promoting a professional image and building strong working relationships.
Your Skills
To be successful in the role of Refrigeration Engineer, you’ll bring:
A Time Served Apprenticeship and an NVQ/C&G Refrigeration Based Qualification.
Refrigerant Handling C&G 2079 or equivalent CITB certificate (Skill Card essential).
Proficiency in refrigeration, electrical, air conditioning, and mechanical skills.
Ability to read drawings and strong equipment diagnostic and repair skills.
Good communication skills (written and verbal) and strong team integration abilities.
Self-motivated and professional with the ability to work at heights and use access equipment.
A current, full driving license is essential, along with availability for out-of-hours working and participation in a standby rota.
A suitable personal tool kit.
