Overview

ARAG UK, a market-leading insurance and legal services provider, has an exciting new opportunity for a Reporting and Analytics Engineer to join us in our Information Management Team, based in our spacious, modern Bristol offices.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for data, visualisations, and story-telling through data; ideally coming from a relevant professional background to support this passion.

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with stakeholders across the business, design and build a variety of content including paginated reports and dashboards using SSRS and Power BI.
  • Build and enhance datasets for report consumption using TSQL.
  • Work with the data warehouse team to improve warehouse coverage and create key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Gather detailed requirements and foster collaborative idea generation. Ensure BI solutions follow the principles of increasing efficiency, enhancing decision-making, and optimising operations.
  • Resolve queries and issues related to BI tools, services and data.
  • Ensure all BI processes including data refreshes and report generation run smoothly in collaboration with active stakeholders.
  • Resolve failures or errors in scheduled jobs, investigate data discrepancies, escalate as needed, and document deeper investigations required for the development of fixes.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong SQL, SSRS, and Power BI skills for creating and managing paginated reports, visualisations and dashboards.
  • Experience with TSQL, data warehouses, and tabular data sets. Familiarity with development lifecycle processes using source control, ideally within Azure DevOps.
  • Experience across the Microsoft technology stack, ideally leveraging capabilities in Azure.
  • Adept at visualising information using appropriate chart types and an understanding of data storytelling.
  • Experience developing reports using a Data Warehouse and a solid understanding of Kimball methodologies and principles.
  • Advanced DAX experience is preferable.
  • Good problem solving, planning, and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
