The role supports clients and projects across the UK with a focus on the Environment Agency, Local Authorities and other asset management organisations, delivering designs from concept through to detailed designs across a range of sectors.We are looking for Engineers with experience in Water, Drainage and Environmental Engineering for rivers and flood defence projects to expand the growth of our expertise and technical capability.ResponsibilitiesDelivery of a wide variety of civil engineering river and flood related schemesPreparing and supporting business cases for works to protect from floodingDeveloping outline and detailed designs for engineering flood projects including hydraulic systems, flood defences, drainage and ancillary structuresWorking with wider infrastructure clients (internal and external) in designing hydraulic structures (culverts, weirs, walls, outfalls, scour protection) associated with large infrastructure projects in highways, rail and propertyPreparing work schedules and specifications for contractorsCarrying out asset inspection works of above and below ground structuresSupervise construction works (supported by others where required)Working with local authorities and national environmentally based organisationsWhat We Are Looking For You To DemonstrateDegree qualified in civil or flood risk engineeringExperience post degree in hydraulic designs associated with river or flood defence worksKnowledge and understanding of flood and river diversion design principles and solutionsExperience in the use of CAD or Civil 3DSite experience, ideally in a site supervision roleExcellent written and verbal communicationDemonstratable contribution to the successful delivery of projects/programmes meeting quality and commercial targetsWorking towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineer statusWhat’s In It For YouWork-life balance with hybrid working policy (flexibility to work from home two days a week)Inclusivity & Belonging; diverse, supportive culture and employee resource groupsHealth & wellbeing benefits including Thrive programme, Virtual GP, and menopause support packageFlex your time with options to take one hour daily for personal activitiesPart-time and flexible working arrangements, ability to purchase additional leaveDevelopment opportunities including training, mentoring, and ChartershipSeniority level: Mid-Senior level; Employment type: Part-time; Job function: Engineering and Information Technology; Industry: Professional Services. #J-18808-Ljbffr
