How will you contribute :
Ciena is seeking Software Engineers to join our engineering team and help drive the development of the Service Aware Operating System (SAOS), in order to support our customers in developing and deploying their virtualized networks.
Develop embedded software on the Ciena NOS, which is a modified Linux operating systemParticipate in all stages of software developmenrequirements analysis, architect and high-level design, implementation and testingTroubleshoot software issues, provide customer and verification supportDesign and develop unit tests and test-automation suitesEngage with Product Owners to evolve software applications adopting new features and technologies without compromising performanceInfluence and/or define the software architecture, improve resiliency, debuggability and maintainabilityRequired skills:
Ability to write quality C code along with automated unit test cases using Python/CIn depth understanding of Linux OS & Open Source software developmentExperience with design & development of L2/L3 networking technologiesExperience in software development of Data Forwarding paths (Software, Hardware)Knowledge of network merchant silicon chipsets and whitebox platformsExperience in troubleshooting large-scale deploymentsExperience in manageability frameworks such as Yang/XMLExperience with virtualization technologies such as Intel DPDK, SR-IOV, etcExperience using the Atlassian tool suite, Git, Jenkins.Must haves:
Requires a Degree in Computer Science (or similar) with 4+ years of related experienceAssets:
