About the Role
Are you passionate about safety engineering and its vital role in developing complex, cutting-edge systems? Were seeking an experienced
Safety Engineer
who can integrate hazard analysis and safety evaluation into the system engineering process
ensuring safety is built into every stage of product development. Youll have the opportunity to shape safety practices for sophisticated systems, applying your engineering insight to balance safety, technical requirements, and operational needs. Key Responsibilities
Lead and deliver Safety Case Reports and supporting documentation, including Hazard Analyses, Functional Failure Analyses, and Fault Tree Analyses (FTA).
Ensure safety evaluation processes are effectively integrated with the wider system engineering lifecycle.
Determine and manage the most cost-effective evidence to demonstrate hazard mitigation and compliance with safety requirements.
Apply pragmatic safety assurance approaches that align with engineering realities and programme constraints.
Contribute to research activities and the development of innovative safety methods and tools.
What Were Looking For
Strong understanding of how hazard analysis and safety evaluation integrate with system engineering processes.
Proven experience delivering Safety Cases and supporting artefacts.
Good working knowledge of UK and international safety standards (especially
Def Stan 00-056 ).
Experience working with complex electronic or electro-mechanical systems (other technical disciplines also considered).
Effective communicator with strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Degree-qualified (or equivalent experience) in a relevant engineering discipline.
