If so, the following role might be for you….On behalf of my client, a global Aerospace and Defence manufacturer organisation based in Greater Manchester I am pleased to present the opportunity for a Safety Management Systems Engineer on a long-term fixed term contract basis.The Safety Management Systems Engineer will be responsible for developing and providing oversight of the Company's safety management system in accordance with ICAO SMS framework for small organisations and UK CAA Part 21G and 145 requirements.This is a truly brilliant opportunity to join a growing business with a genuine passion for engineering advanced electronics that will benefit our planet and people for future generations.You will be responsible for:Setting the strategy and objections of the Safety Management SystemEnsuring the implementation and the ongoing performance and effectiveness of the SMSEnsuring SMS processes are established, implemented and maintainedPromoting safety awareness and a positive safety cultureEnsuring identified hazards and issues (NCRIs and FRACAS) are managed and resolvedMaintaining safety documentation and recordsChairing safety meetings such as SRB, SAG and Product Safety committeesYou:Previous experience of establishing a SNMS in a production and/or maintenance organisationUnderstanding of safety related principles in an aviation/military or aerospace settingStrong communication skillsProcess focused and strong attention to detailFormal training or practical experience of ICAO SMS / EU 748-2012 Subpart G / EU 1321-2014 Part 145The package:You'll receive a very competitive salary (£££ offered depends on level of experience), an early Friday finish and other benefits including 7% matched pension, life assurance and 25 days' (plus bank holidays).
