Overview

This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically biased Sales Engineer. You’ll be joining a dynamic team of sales engineers who are passionate about engineering and driving business growth. The role would suit a technically minded individual with some experience in sales, customer support, or a similar environment, and a genuine interest in seeing projects develop from enquiry through to delivery.

The position is office-based, but you will visit customers across the UK, with a particular focus on the Midlands, South East, and Home Counties. Initial training will be office-based, but the role will transition into a hybrid/remote position longer term.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage incoming enquiries while also identifying and developing new business opportunities.
  • Demonstrate technical equipment capabilities using your expertise and company resources to support the sales process.
  • Visit customer sites and book appointments to build and maintain relationships.
  • Follow up on sales leads and progress opportunities through to completion.
  • Support with installations and customer training sessions, ensuring a smooth handover.
  • Provide ongoing support via phone and email to strengthen customer relationships.
  • Promote a range of technical solutions to a diverse customer base.

The Candidate

  • Holds a degree with a mechanical bias (or equivalent technical qualification)
  • Experience in machinery sales
  • Skilled and knowledgeable in CNC machinery and/or CAD/CAM programming
  • Proficient IT skills, ideally with experience using CRM or similar software
  • Strong understanding of workshop machinery and mechanical systems
  • Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills

£35,000 – £40,000 per year, plus commission (depending on skills and experience).
