Overview

As the SCADA/Controls Visualisation Engineer, you will be part of an EMEA-wide engineering team to create the visualisation concept and the specification within the cost and time constraints of a material handling project. You will ensure that the visualisation methods and standards meet the project requirements and align with both Dematic and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver the assigned project scope and tasks by meeting or exceeding safety, quality, On-Time-Delivery, and budget requirements.
  • Define the visualisation concept and create specifications.
  • Edit the overview layouts and customer-specific documents.
  • Clarify order details internally with other departments and externally with customers and suppliers.
  • Create the entire visualization.
  • Commission the systems.
  • Occasional system support during the start-up phase until production is handed over.
  • Train customer personnel and our service employees.

  • Maintain the Dematic image as a top-quality, professional company by adopting an honest, professional, and attentive approach.
  • Maintain good relationships with all internal and external customers through the provision of a high-quality service.
  • Liaise with other Company Departments, Customers, and sub-contractors.
  • Maintain and use Dematic standards wherever possible.
  • Comply with company policies.
  • Promote personal and business continuous improvement and development of processes to achieve improved time, cost and quality or project delivery.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Ideally educated to a degree level; minimum qualification is an HNC/HND in Electrical/Controls Engineering.
  • Familiar with PC-based process visualization systems WinCC, Iconics, or Ignition.
  • Experience in designing graphical user interfaces.
  • Experience in Visual Basic Script (VBS), Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), and the programming languages C, C++.
  • Good understanding of SCADA systems and, where appropriate, PLC and HMI software.
  • Hands-on experience with process visualization systems.
  • Good understanding of the installation and configuration of computer systems and server systems.
  • Understanding of distributed control systems is desirable, not essential.
  • Understanding of automated warehouse desirable, not essential.
  • The role requires willingness to travel up to 30% to customer locations within the EMEA region, including travel to other Dematic offices or facilities across Europe to perform duties.
