Scala Engineer - Decision Systems

15 Days Old

Overview

Be among the first 25 applicants for a role at Quantexa. Since 2016, we have been innovating the data analytics market. Our technology began in FinTech, helping tackle serious criminal activity, and its potential is virtually limitless. We work as a real, collaborative team, engineering better solutions and driving towards ambitious goals. Our culture values belonging and diversity, with 41% of colleagues from ethnic or religious minority backgrounds and over 20 languages across 47 nationalities.

Opportunity

You'll be joining a team of Engineers working on Decision Systems, one of the key components of Quantexa\'s Decision Intelligence platform. Our users leverage the Quantexa platform to make decisions, and scoring helps identify important real-world insights, such as evidence of financial crime or suspicious activity, from complex datasets. The Decision Systems team has released multiple versions of our packaged, vertical scoring solution covering three different Financial Crime use-cases. This solution provides pre-built, use-case-specific scores for quick deployment of a complete detection and alerting system. We will continue expanding to cover more use-cases the platform supports.

Responsibilities

  • Focus on Scala development within a skilled engineering team
  • Improve risk detection coverage by adding new Scores to detect additional types of Financial Crime
  • Build tooling to allow users to configure detection logic more easily and effectively
  • Enhance the platform so existing Scores can be applied across a wider range of scenarios
  • Improve system performance to analyse the largest datasets efficiently
  • Ottimize tooling and pipelines to deliver high-quality software, including increasing automated test coverage in build pipelines
  • Support three sub-teams within Decision Systems and learn the remit and differences between them (details available on request)

Stakeholder engagement is essential; you\'ll work with product, delivery teams, clients and partners to design and build high-quality solutions. You will have autonomy to see tasks through the full development life cycle, from requirements gathering to software release.
