The position will focus on the project and tender engineering and its interfaces and scope of work involved in HV - substation design and construction projects, within the Linxon EPC to meet customer needs, legislative demands and standards.What will you do?Key Areas Of Responsibility (KARs)Overall responsible for managing & leading all secondary engineering activities from project start till the As-Built stage with strict adherence to Project Specifications & Linxon standards including QA/QC, HSSE & Integrity.Instruct, supervise & coordinate with other engineering team within Linxon (local & remote), internal & external partners, sub-suppliers, secondary engineers & civil engineers.Review of P&C design packages as per NG/ET/SR188Completion of the relevant section of the DIDSubmitting completed Design Packages for Design Compliance AuditEnsuring all design changes are managed in accordance with the design change management process defined as per NGAttending Design Review meetings (DRMs) and Hazard review meetings (HRMs) as requiredReview and certify the design packages and issue the DCAARSecondary design but not limited to SLD, AC & DC distribution systems, battery and battery chargers sizing, voltage drop, cable sizing, signal lists, setting calculation, interface lists, cable block diagrams, multicore & fiber optic cable schedules, and cables core sheets, etc.Coordinate with suppliers and reviewing their deliverables. Check remote end requirements and provide input to supplier.Be familiar with Substation control system and its architectureParticipate in technical discussions with customers and suppliers, handle site queries and take necessary actions up to as-built documentationSecondary engineering budget, schedule, forecast, risk & change management activities.Secondary engineer of large and complex EHV/HV Air & Gas Insulated Substation (AIS & GIS) projects in UK.Technical solutionsProvide technical solution for substations comprising SLD, KLD, technical information, and associated detail drawings and documents by established applicable standards, processes and customer specifications through allocated resources remotely.Prepare Design Intent Document (DID) / Functional Design Specification (FDS) based on supplier inputsRFQs but not limited to P&C, metering and AC/DC systemsReviewing supplier deliverables based on project specifications and standards.Support site team during execution stage.Provide technical calculations and schedules for all equipment for projects or tenders.Prepare bill of quantities (PEMS), deviations & clarifications for technical solutions.Review of Suppliers design and Factory acceptance test plans.Provide technical support and to develop tender scheme options and related project scope documents.Availability to travel 25 % of the time (domestic/international travel) working in an office and on a construction siteExperience RequiredBachelor or Master’s in electrical engineering or equivalentExtensive years of substation engineering experience in utilities.
