First People Solutions are partnering with a leading civil engineering firm who specialise in earthworks on power and renewable energy projects, and we are recruiting an experienced Section Engineer on a permanent basis to cover projects through Scotland.\n\nYou will ideally be located in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Fife or anywhere else throughout the central belt and able to travel to various sites throughout Scotland when required. \n\nYou will need to have:\n\nStrong track record in setting out for civil engineering projects.\nExperience in quality management, including preparation and delivery of ITPs.\nAbility to plan work efficiently and delegate tasks effectively.\nConfident communicator, able to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.\nProficient IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office.\nFull UK manual driving licence.\nFlexibility to travel to sites across Scotland. \n\nYour responsibilities will be to:\n\nOversee and coordinate site engineers, assisting the Site Agent and supervisors in the smooth daily operation of the project.\nProvide accurate setting out and dimensional control to keep construction works precise and compliant.\nDevelop and manage inspection and test plans (ITPs) in line with project drawings and specifications.\nTake ownership of temporary works, ensuring safe design, installation, and compliance at all times.\nWork closely with the Site Agent to drive high standards in health, safety, environment, and quality.\nOffer technical guidance to resolve on-site issues and respond to engineering queries.\nManage procurement schedules and materials take-offs to ensure resources are effectively controlled.\nShare knowledge and mentor junior engineers, encouraging their development within the team.
