Section Engineer

to joinour Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks team based in Culham working on the Thames Water Framework Location : Culham, Oxfordshire Hours : 45hours per week some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role. Kier is a strategic partner to Thames Water on capital frameworks across the Thames Water supply and treatment regions. We deliver design & build services for new and exisiting infrastructure assets (below ground) and non-infrastructure assets (above ground). What will you be responsible for? As a Section Engineer, you'll be supporting the engineering and technical compliance of the project to the design specification to fulfil the assigned project (or section) safety, on time and to the required standard. You will be instrumental in bridging the gap between design and construction, providing engineering support across the project. Your day to day will include: Provide focused engineering support and technical assurance, coordiating between the design, delivery and commercial teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to specification Interpreting design documentation and ensuring works are carried out in accordance with the approved drawings and specifications Supporting construction teams with technical queries, resolving design conflicts, and driving value engineering initiatives Managing and coordinating temporary works designs and approvals in line with site requirements and programme Monitoring and recording construction progress and providing accurate technical input to support project reporting and planning What are we looking for? This role of Section Engineer is great for you if you hold: HNC/ HND or Bachelor's degree (or demonstrable equivalent experience) in civil engineering, mechanical, electrical, or a related engineering discipline Practical experience working on infrastructure or wastewater construction projects, with a focus on engineering assurance Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, and design packages Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on technical details and site coordination Working knowledge of construction methods, health and safety legislation, and site quality procedures. CSCS card and full driving licence Proficiency in MS office and construction related software (e.g. AutoCAD, Navisworks) We're all about finding potentialhere at Kier, and transferrable skills are always welcome!
