Senior Applied AI Solutions Engineer (Hybrid, UK)

Location: Hybrid (UK-based, with occasional client travel)

We’re working with a high-growth AI consultancy helping large enterprises harness Generative AI to deliver business transformation. They partner with leading AI providers and focus on building production-ready AI applications for sectors like finance, healthcare, and professional services.

This role is a chance to join a senior technical team at the forefront of applied AI, working directly with enterprise clients to design, build, and scale impactful AI solutions.

As a Senior Applied AI Solutions Engineer, you will:

Lead the design, development, and deployment of enterprise-grade AI solutions.
Work across multiple projects, owning delivery from prototype to production.
Balance hands-on coding with technical leadership, guiding small engineering teams.
Build AI-powered applications and intelligent agents using LLMs (fine-tuned and off-the-shelf).
Collaborate with client engineers to integrate solutions into real business environments.
Contribute to internal R&D, building reusable assets and advancing applied AI capabilities.
Communicate complex AI approaches to both technical and business stakeholders.
Architect scalable, reliable backend systems for AI applications.
Develop solutions involving:
Python applications & data pipelines
Microservices and distributed systems
Drive system reliability, monitoring, and deployment best practices.
Mentor junior engineers and set high standards for technical delivery.
Stay ahead of the curve in Generative AI, experimenting with new methods and applying them in enterprise contexts.

We’re looking for someone with:

5+ years of software engineering experience in enterprise environments.
A track record of delivering production-grade, distributed systems.
Strong skills in Python, cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP), and data architecture.
Experience with LLMs or AI-powered applications.
The ability to lead teams, balance multiple projects, and own outcomes end-to-end.
Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
A passion for mentoring, coaching, and driving high technical standards.
