Senior / Associate Electrical Design Engineer (Building Services) to join a premium global engineering consultancy in either the Glasgow or Edinburgh offices. This role supports services from M&E design, dilapidations, commissioning, technical due diligence and compliance. Building types are varied and include Offices, Data Centres, Schools, Healthcare and more. The company is a reputable brand with a modern office and workplace culture.

Role

  • Understand project briefs and design and specify Electrical Building Services systems, including power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, and lightning protection.
  • Produce detailed calculations using industry-standard software (e.g., Excel, Dialux, Amtech, in-house tools) and manage others in this process.
  • Represent the organisation at meetings with clients and contractors.
  • Conduct site surveys, inspections and monitor site works.
  • Prepare reports and technical notes; maintain complete records and archives to company standards.
  • Adhere to quality, environmental and governance processes.
  • Prepare fee proposals.

Qualifications / Experience

  • Degree qualified, or equivalent, in Building Services Engineering / Electrical Engineering or related subjects.
  • Chartered Engineer with CIBSE or IET or working towards this.
  • Good level of computer literacy in CAD, Amtech, Relux, and Microsoft packages.
  • Experience working in a design consultancy and/or contractor design environment is essential.
  • Knowledge of appropriate technical standards is required.
