This role is for a highly skilled Automation Test Lead within the Digital Services and Analytics (DS&A) team, focused on driving automation testing efforts. The ideal candidate will have strong manual and automated testing experience using Selenium, proficiency in Java, and experience with cloud technologies and DevOps practices. This role requires leadership capabilities to guide a team of testers and ensure delivery of high-quality software products.
Please note: this role is subject to a successful Contract Award. This is an on-site based role, with flexibility for occasional remote working at the discretion of the management team.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and execution of test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on project requirements and design specifications
- Develop and implement test automation strategies and frameworks to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, product managers, DevOps) to define testing requirements and acceptance criteria
- Mentor and train team members on automation testing best practices, tools, and methodologies
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using DevOps tools and practices
- Monitor and report testing progress, defect metrics, and overall quality assurance status
- Continuously evaluate and improve testing processes, tools, and methodologies to align with industry best practices
- Stay updated with latest trends and technologies in automation testing, cloud computing, and DevOps

Preferred Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience in software testing with a focus on automation testing
- Strong expertise in Selenium and Java programming
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Proficiency in DevOps tools and practices (e.g., Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Solid understanding of testing frameworks and tools (e.g., TestNG, JUnit)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Desirable Experience
- Proficiency in Test Automation tools like Selenium WebDriver, SmartBear TestComplete, GitLab, IntelliJ, and TestNG
- Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner)
- Knowledge of API testing and tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured)
- Familiarity with Test Management tools like Micro Focus ALM
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and practices
