Senior Backend Engineer - M-KOPA

What You'll Do: Build sophisticated event-driven microservices with real-world impact. Our engineering teams own their solutions end-to-end—from architecture decisions to production monitoring—combining cutting-edge .NET development with purpose-driven engineering for digital and financial inclusion across Africa.

Technical Environment:

• Modern C# Stack: predominantly C# on the latest .NET
• Microservices & Cloud: microservices hosted on Azure using Kubernetes
• Event-Driven Architecture: moving toward a fully decoupled event-driven model
• Mixed Environment: both legacy services and greenfield microservices

Our Engineering Approach: You will collaborate with peers; senior engineers coach and contribute. Focus areas include:

• High quality output
• Observability and monitoring
• Automated testing in all environments, including production
• Infrastructure as code and DevOps practices

What You Need: You should be comfortable owning the entire software stack, including supporting infrastructure, throughout the software lifecycle, under a DevOps culture. You will value continuous delivery constraints and embrace testing and observability as core concerns.

Required Experience:

• Strong grasp of C# and .NET development
• Experience with Event-Driven Systems
• Microservices architecture experience
• Testing and deployment expertise
• DevOps mindset
