I’m working with a well-established multidisciplinary consultancy looking to appoint a Senior Building Surveyor or Building Engineer to lead their Major Loss Division — focusing on fire, flood, and subsidence claims.

This is a key role for someone with an engineering mindset, a passion for investigation work, and the ambition to take a lead in growing a specialist division with genuine career progression.

The Opportunity

You’ll take ownership of major loss and complex insurance claims, combining hands-on site work with design input, technical reporting, and client liaison. You’ll also play a key part in shaping and developing the team — mentoring junior staff and supporting the firm’s expert witness and subsidence work.

Typical projects include:

Fire and flood damage investigations

Structural cracking and subsidence claims

Remedial and temporary works design (underpinning, retaining walls, beams, rafters, joists)

Forensic building inspections and expert witness reporting

Managing remediation contracts from design to completion
