Senior Civil Design Engineer - Water role with Jacobs in Manchester, United Kingdom. From feasibility and planning to design, construction management, and long-term operations, you’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, sustainable solutions that benefit communities and the environment. With multiple long-term frameworks across the UK, Ireland, and globally, Jacobs offers opportunities to grow your career within a team of nearly 600 water experts working on high-profile projects.

We are looking for experienced Civils Detailed Design Engineers to join our offices across the UK to reinforce our civils teams and support our frameworks with UK Water Companies.

Role Responsibilities

• Deliver detailed design solutions for clean water and wastewater non-infrastructure projects
• Support design-and-build delivery across multiple frameworks
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure technical excellence and regulatory compliance
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, providing updates and addressing concerns
• Conduct site inspections and assessments to verify compliance with design specifications and quality standards
• Support and help develop entry level team members
• Drive innovation and sustainability in water sector engineering

What you'll need

• Experience in civil engineering, with knowledge in detailed design and design-and-build execution for water and wastewater non-infrastructure projects
• Member or working towards Chartership (ICE, CIWEM or equivalent)
• Strong knowledge of design standards, CDM regulations, and safety protocols
• Proficiency in relevant design software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D
