Senior Civil Design Engineer

The Senior Civil Design Engineer will be responsible for providing civil and structural design support for DNO schemes. This role involves a six-month contract, potentially extendable to twelve months, based in Elephant and Castle. The successful candidate will join an engineering design team to produce civil and structural drawings, calculations, and reports for new and existing substation projects scheduled for 2025/26.

The role requires a proactive approach to managing design packages, liaising with suppliers and clients, and ensuring all project milestones are met under the supervision of a Senior Design Engineer. Additionally, the engineer will resolve civil engineering issues, liaise with various teams, and ensure compliance with substation standards and policies.

Skills:

• Demonstrable experience in civil and structural designs for substation projects in England.
• Chartered engineer or near completion of membership with the Institution of Civil Engineers.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Ability to work independently and unsupervised.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Technical liaison with suppliers and clients.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to approve and sign off designs and reports.
• Strong team player with interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
• Ability to identify and implement innovative design solutions.
