The work we do is at the forefront of ensuring safe water supplies for future generations, preventing urban flooding, and improving the health of our rivers and coastal environments. Our multi-disciplinary teams provide a variety of services throughout the full project life cycle, from advisory services and feasibility studies to outline and detailed design. Together, we deliver best-in-class solutions to our clients while offering diverse and technically stimulating opportunities to our people.Overview Of The RoleAfter recent framework successes, we have opportunities for Senior civil engineers (design engineers) within our multidisciplinary Water Division. We work on a vast range of design projects covering, for example:Water treatmentWater distributionWastewater recyclingIndustrial process waterDesalinationIrrigationHydropowerFlood defenceWe cover all phases of the project lifecycle from feasibility studies through detailed design, construction support, and commissioning to handover. We provide specialist technical support to colleagues across our global business, offering fantastic opportunities to get involved in diverse and technically challenging work. Our clients include the majority of UK water utility companies, and many other governmental organisations and private companies in the UK and overseas.In This Role You Will BeWorking across several different UK water authorities, with a main focus on United Utilities as a key clientWorking as part of multi-disciplinary design teams in project deliveryPreparing design submissions to ensure compliance with contract requirementsUndertaking studies, concept, preliminary and detailed designInterfacing and liaising with clients and other stakeholdersYou will work in close partnership with clients and contractors, building strong relationships that will enhance the company’s reputation and help secure further work.Candidate specificationEssentialCivil Engineering degree or other relevant degreeChartered or near chartered status (ICE or equivalent)Water and/or wastewater engineering design experienceExcellent verbal and written communication skillsUnderstanding of the importance of prioritising health, safety, and environmental issuesProactive approach, with an ability to adapt to changing scenariosDesirableStrong digital capability (e.g. Civils 3D, GIS, Pipeline hydraulics software)Contributed towards the identification and development of low carbon solutionsEquality, diversity, and inclusionWe put equality, diversity, and inclusion at the heart of our business, seeking to promote fair employment procedures and practices to ensure equal opportunities for all.
