Senior Civil Design Manager – BESS & Renewable EPC Projects - Glasgow, United Kingdom

Key Responsibilities Build, lead, and develop a civil design team (engineers, CAD/BIM technicians), providing training, mentoring, and technical guidance. Define civil engineering design standards, QA/QC processes, and workflows for consistent project delivery. Lead civil design for HV BESS and renewable EPC projects, covering site layouts, foundations, drainage, access roads, earthworks, and cable trenching. Review and approve internal and external design packages, ensuring compliance with UK regulations, Eurocodes, BS standards, and CDM. Drive innovation to improve constructability, reduce costs, and minimise environmental impact. Oversee digital design systems (BIM, Civil 3D, Procore) to streamline processes and coordination. Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and procurement teams to deliver fully integrated designs. Provide technical support during construction, resolving design queries and ensuring safe, compliant delivery.
