Civil Engineer Job Overview Take a lead role in the design and delivery of civil engineering schemes across multiple sectors Focus on drainage and infrastructure design for planning and technical design stages Deliver projects typically ranging from £4M-£15M in value Work across residential developments, education facilities, commercial refurbishments, and heritage conversions Coordinate designs with internal structural teams and external consultants Ensure compliance with adoptable standards, including SuDS, Section 104, 106, and 278 Lead client and design team meetings throughout project lifecycles Oversee and manage the technical output of junior team members Provide mentorship and support to assistant engineers within the civil team Contribute to continuous improvement and collaborative team culture Civil Engineer Job Requirements Degree in Civil Engineering (Master's ) 5 years' UK-based consultancy experience Proficient in drainage and infrastructure design (foul & surface water) Experience with Section 104, 106, and 278 agreements Familiar with design software such as MicroDrainage, Civil 3D, or PDS Confident communicator and collaborative team player Based within a commutable distance to Cardiff, or willing to relocate Civil Engineer Salary & Benefits Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 Profit-sharing annual bonus 20-25 days' holiday (increasing with length of service) Standard company pension Hybrid working (typically up to 2-3 days from home) Ongoing CPD and internal training sessions Friendly, inclusive office culture with regular social events Potential for additional future benefits as the business grows Our client pride themselves on technical excellence, employee development, and a collaborative working culture.
