Working alongside colleagues within the local office as well as those in other parts of the Group, you will be encouraged to deliver highways and infrastructure projects for a diverse range of clients and sectors.As part of civils team, you will be involved from initial scheme concept through to detailed design and construction stages. The role offers the opportunity for the right candidate to develop their skills and progress their career working as part of a team of innovative engineers and specialists.A competitive salary will be offered, commensurate with the importance of this role within our company.We have opportunities available in our Ipswich and Norwich offices.JMS Group is part of the Structural Engineering Alliance Group (SEAG), a collective of esteemed engineering firms, each distinguished in its respective field, united by a shared vision of pioneering progress.ResponsibilitiesUse the latest design software to create and manage designs.Liaise with key clients and discuss design/technical solutions with team members and stakeholders.Ensure projects are appropriately resourced, delegating work to team members, programming deliverables, and monitoring progress.Provide support and guidance to junior staff, fostering their development and progressionImplement company policies and ensure adherence across your teamMonitor and oversee project budgets and staff resources for projects undertakenDevelop existing customer relationships and promote JMSs servicesAssist in achieving targeted revenues from current and new customersQualifications:We are looking for an ambitious, self-motivated and driven experienced Senior Civil Engineer able to meet the following criteria:Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related disciplineChartered Engineer status (CEng) would be advantageousMinimum of 4 years of UK professional experience in civil engineeringDemonstrable record of involvement in the design of highways and infrastructure projectsProven track record of cost estimation and project management.Understanding of the use of design tools within a BIM environmentUse of industry design standards, i.e. DMRB; Manual for Streets; NJUG, SSG etc.Problem solver, able to offer solutions to challengesAble to work and collaborate as part of a multi-disciplinary teamEagerness to learn and to develop your skills and career with training supportGood time management and organisational skills to efficiently manage workload.A good knowledge of the CDM regulations in addition to British standards and EU regulations.Excellent spoken and written English.Full UK driving licence and a willingness to travel across the UK to visit sites and other JMS offices.Eligibility to live and work in the UK and be able to demonstrate proof when requested.What we offer:Benefits such as professional development opportunities and family-friendly policies.Diverse portfolio of projects with unique challenges.Career progression opportunities within a growing company.Eligibility to Work in the UK:Please note that this role requires applicants to already have the right to live and work in the UK.
