OverviewSenior Civil/Highways Engineer – Central LondonSalary: £45,000 to £60,000 + package (hybrid working)Our client is a well known, multi disciplinary design consultancy who are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with a consultancy background to join their established infrastructure team to help address their ever-expanding workload.Ideally, we are looking for an all-rounder, comfortable with highway design and willing to learn some drainage design, encompassing projects both within the public highway and on-site.The candidate should be able to take instruction from senior team members and then complete tasks either independently or with junior team members, helping to impart knowledge and improve junior experience. The role involves familiarisation with relevant guidance and standards, active involvement in proposals and ongoing project management, delivering projects to budget, and a client-facing role supporting private developers, public bodies and contractors.ResponsibilitiesTake direction from senior team members and complete tasks independently or with junior engineersContribute to proposals and ongoing project managementDeliver projects to budget and deadlinesEngage in client facing activities for private developers, public bodies and contractorsSupport and mentor junior team membersRequirementsAt least 5 years’ experience working in a UK consultancy on both highway and drainage design schemesA proficiency using industry-standard design packages AutoCAD and Civil 3DA practical knowledge of relevant highway design standards, guidelines and processesProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including ExcelAbility to multi-task and manage a portfolio of projects across various scalesEffective, professional communication with the design team, clients and contractorsGood written skillsUnderstanding of the multi-disciplinary nature of projects from planning through to completionChartered or working towards chartered is welcomed, but not essentialSpecific ExperienceTechnical experience within Civil Engineering design, covering preliminary and detailed design of levels and external worksExperience liaising with internal and external bodies, including planning authorities, statutory undertakers, and national bodies such as National HighwaysExperience in design delivery, including multi-disciplinary designsAttending client meetings and liaising with clients and other stakeholdersSection 278 / 38 Highway DesignsHighway designs to DMRB and Local Authority guidelinesResidential Estate Roads, Commercial / Industrial AccessGround Modelling / Earthworks Design including geotechnical and environmental appraisalPavement designsIdeal candidates would also have some knowledge of Site3D and Infodrainage; and general knowledge of Flood Risk Assessments; Sustainable Urban Drainage Strategies; foul and storm water drainage; Detailed Drainage Designs; and/or highways drainage, however, this is not essential to the role.This company offers a generous package of benefits and operates as an employee-owned trust. #J-18808-Ljbffr
