The Role
As a Senior Cloud Engineer specialising in Azure, you will design, implement, and optimise cloud architectures tailored to business and data-driven workloads. You will be a key driver in modernising infrastructure delivery using Azure-native services, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security across solutions.
Key contributions include:
- Collaborate with teams to design, implement, and support the Azure infrastructure.
- Automate Azure provisioning and deployments with CI/CD best practices (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, Bicep).
- Deliver containerised environments and serverless environments (Azure Container apps, Functions, Kubernetes, Helm).
- Design and maintain monitoring, identity management (Azure Entra ID, Active Directory), networking (VNets, Routing) and application security (Key Vault, Firewalls).
- Manage and secure Azure SQL Database solutions (Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL/MySQL) for performance, scalability, and resilience.
- Automate data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration with CI/CD best practices (ETL pipelines) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, Bicep).
- Partner with our application team to align Azure solutions with product and analytics needs.
- Working with our AI and Machine learning teams to deliver solutions on the Azure platform (Foundry, Hub, Search)
- Optimizs cloud costs using FinOps principles best practices whilst ensuring disaster recovery and business continuity on Azure.
- Integrate DevSecOps practices into CI/CD pipelines and leverage advanced architectures like HashiCorp Vault, service meshes, and Zero Trust.
