Overview
The Component Engineers play an important part, not just within the group but the wider business too as people will seek technical advice. You will ensure we deliver a comprehensive component service ensuring accuracy of data and assessment of risks for components selected and embedded within MBDA designs. The growing workload within MBDA has created an exciting opportunity within the UK Component Engineering team for a committed, professional Component Engineer to select, vet, and catalogue electronic, electrical and electromechanical components used in all of our missile products. You will also ensure compliance with specific standards and the management of obsolescence. You will get to know in detail the latest products and technologies available in order to support the advice given our customers. To keep up-to-date knowledge there will be regular visits to relevant stakeholders and suppliers. There is also the opportunity to support both local and international continuous improvement initiatives to help define best practice and manage the adoption and adherence of agreed methodologies across the teams on an international scale.
Responsibilities
- Select, vet, and catalogue electronic, electrical and electromechanical components used in MBDA missile products.
- Ensure accuracy of data and assess risks for components embedded within MBDA designs.
- Maintain compliance with specific standards and manage component obsolescence.
- Keep up-to-date knowledge of the latest products and technologies to support advice to customers.
- Conduct regular visits to relevant stakeholders and suppliers to maintain knowledge and relationships.
- Support local and international continuous improvement initiatives to define best practices and adoption of agreed methodologies across teams at an international scale.
Qualifications
- Knowledge or experience in electrical, electro-mechanical products or electronic components.
- Knowledge of component suppliers across technologies.
- Appreciation of REACH and RoHS regulations.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Pro-activeness and self-motivation to improve self, improve process, and get the job done.
- It would be advantageous if the candidate has experience working within component supply chain.

Salary: Circa £45,000 depending on experience. Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2 days per week on-site. Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply.
