Job Description
As a Senior Cost Engineer, your responsibilities may include:
- Leading the implementation of appropriate cost systems, procedures, and templates.
- Leading project teams to ensure timely and accurate cost reporting, including EAC, ETC, ACWP, and comparison to baseline.
- Monitoring project expenditures to ensure alignment with budgets.
- Preparing detailed financial reports for stakeholders.
- Executing cost re-baseline exercises, forecasting, and budget updates.
- Analyzing project cost information to support program objectives, including earned value and trend analysis.
- Working closely with project managers to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Qualifications
You should have professional experience in Project Controls, specializing in Senior Cost Engineering across multiple sectors and project stages. You should be proficient with cost engineering and forecasting tools such as PRISM, EcoSys, or Cobra. Additionally:
- Possess a degree in a relevant technical or management field, or equivalent qualifications and experience.
- Be a member of a relevant professional body, e.g., APM or PMI.
- Have excellent Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Be capable of communicating cost and performance information effectively to peers and managers.
