OverviewThis role is with a FTSE 250 financial services provider known for its award-winning culture and commitment to employee development. They’re on a mission to deliver innovative solutions across savings and business lending, and they need a seasoned Cyber Security Engineer to help ensure the security and resilience of their cloud and on-prem infrastructure. This is a project-focused security engineering role focused on maturing the company’s cyber security posture.Base pay range: Up to £90,000 Base salary + Bonus + Benefits. Hybrid working – 1 day per week in the Birmingham office. This range is provided by James Adams. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.The RoleReporting to the CISO, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing the company’s security strategy. You’ll be a key figure in the security team across the company, providing SME knowledge in cybersecurity for critical projects across the wider technology division. You’ll work closely with infrastructure and architecture teams in an agile environment, ensuring best practices and industry standards are met across systems and applications.Key Responsibilities:Deliver secure solutions aligned with the business’s cloud-first technology roadmapCollaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver secure infrastructureMaintain and improve SIEM (preferably Microsoft Sentinel) and Microsoft-based security toolingEnhance the organisation’s use of Azure, Active Directory, and O365 from a security perspectiveSupport compliance with ISO 27001, NIST, SOC, and other security frameworksDocument technical processes and contribute to security governanceSkills & Experience:Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies (Azure, AD, O365)Experience with SIEM tools, WAFs, and Windows server infrastructureA pragmatic and collaborative approach to designing and implementing security solutionsExperience in regulated sectors, particularly financial services, is a plusEven if you don’t tick every box, I’d still love to hear from you.
