Senior Data Engineer

Overview

The Trust has recently invested in new Data Warehouse systems, complemented by new Business Intelligence reporting tools. We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our busy and highly skilled team to further develop and maintain the data warehouse and reporting cubes. You will be required to interpret complex requests, then design and implement new technical solutions, utilising the SQL stack and other technologies where appropriate. A logical thinker who can work using your own initiative, you will also be a confident communicator and team player. The role will involve managing and closely working with other developers in the team, as well as analysts and other members of the department and staff across the Trust.

We operate hybrid working and are based at the Civic Centre in Doncaster. Travel to other sites may be required occasionally.

DBTH is one of Yorkshire's leading acute trusts, serving a population of more than 440,000. Our services are based over three main hospital sites and several additional services employing over 7,000 colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret complex requests and design, implement and maintain technical solutions using the SQL stack and other appropriate technologies.
  • Collaborate with other developers, analysts and staff across the Trust to deliver data warehouse and reporting capabilities.
  • Manage and work closely with team members to ensure successful delivery of BI solutions.

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline with experience in a software or information development role.
  • Experience of ETL and BI development using the full SQL stack (SSMS, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS).
  • NHS background, with preferably some experience of PowerBI and Microsoft Excel.
