Overview

Senior Decommissioning Engineer (OUTSIDE IR35) role at Genesis. This position provides independent contract services to support the multi-discipline delivery of decommissioning projects (typically at conceptual / pre-FEED project stages). The scope includes broad technical inputs and project engineering on a range of decommissioning projects, from traditional upstream oil and gas to emerging energy transition developments.

Responsibilities

• Provide broad technical inputs and project engineering on decommissioning projects across multiple disciplines.
• Apply Decommissioning Programmes and support client needs during execution in the UK and overseas.
• Collaborate with a decommissioning team and work with a wide range of clients on varied projects.
• Contribute to early-phase decision making by delivering value-added contributions.
• Define new decommissioning philosophies during concept selection and provide technical/perimetry support for mature assets.

Requirements

• Degree Qualified in a relevant engineering subject (MEng or BEng (Hons)/ MSc or BSc or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years decommissioning project engineering or relevant experience.
• Experience working as part of a multi-discipline team on decommissioning projects.
• Ability to manage multi-discipline teams in the delivery of decommissioning project studies with a focus on Comparative Assessments (CAs).
• Manage interfaces between disciplines, peers, projects and clients.
• Review documentation (engineering, environmental, surveys, drawings) in support of decommissioning studies and as inputs to CAs.
• Participate in decommissioning workshops and ENVID/HAZID reviews.
• Provide decommissioning engineering technical and compliance advice.
• Develop high-quality proposals and bid submissions.
• Detailed understanding of CA processes, regulatory drivers and experience leading/managing CA scopes.
• Competence in supporting cost and schedule estimate development.
• Knowledge of decommissioning legislation, engineering techniques, solutions and challenges.
• Excellent report-writing, reviewing, communication, client-handling and interpersonal skills; fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Flexibility for ad-hoc travel within the UK and abroad.
