We are proud to be in partnership and working exclusively with PowaKaddy, one of the UK's most innovative designers and manufacturers of high-tech golf equipment. As a global leader in electric golf trolleys, bags, and accessories, PowaKaddy blends intelligent technology with sleek design to create game-changing products for golfers worldwide.
This is an exciting opportunity to join their in-house R&D and engineering team as a Senior Design Engineer, playing a vital role in the end-to-end development of next-generation products that lead the field in performance, reliability, and innovation.
As Senior Design Engineer, you'll be fully involved with design lifecycle-from early concept development through to production launch. You'll be designing premium products that are compact, durable, and intelligently engineered, working closely with both internal teams and international manufacturing partners.
Location: Kent - Maidstone, Rochester, Gravesend, Dartford, Sittingbourne, Canterbury, Tonbridge, Ashford, Rainham, Aylesford, Faversham
Salary: Circa £50K + Pension + 25 days annual leave (plus BH 33 days total) + Discounts on Company Products + Free onsite parking + Hybrid Working (after qualifying period)
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies such as frames, folding mechanisms, and drive systems * Create robust CAD models and technical drawings using SolidWorks * Conduct tolerance analysis, DFM reviews, and generate supporting documentation * Lead design validation testing, FMEA processes, and real-world trials * Work directly with UK and overseas suppliers to ensure manufacturability and production readiness * Support tooling design, inspection planning, and production implementation * Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous design improvements
What You'll Need:
* Ideally a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related discipline * Extensive experience in SolidWorks and mechanical assembly design * Strong knowledge of injection moulding, metal fabrication, CNC machining, and prototyping * Demonstrable experience bringing mechanical products from concept through to manufacture * Confident working with global supply chains and manufacturing teams * A passion for well-designed, high-quality products and a hands-on, problem-solving approach
