Overview Manchester – Hybrid £550- £650 per day 12 months contract Are you an experienced Signalling Design Engineer ready to take the next step in your career? We’re seeking a talented Senior Design Engineer to lead the delivery of complex and high-profile rail signalling and control system projects across the UK. As a Senior Design Engineer, you’ll take a lead role in directing signalling design activities from concept through to delivery. You’ll oversee project design teams to ensure all work meets technical, safety, and quality standards — delivered on time and within budget. Essential Qualifications & Experience
Degree or HND/HNC in Engineering (or equivalent). Member of IRSE, IET, or another recognised professional body. Minimum of 10 years’ experience in signalling systems design and implementation. In-depth understanding of signalling design standards, principles, and operational requirements. Strong commercial awareness with good knowledge of project contracts and budgets. Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. Personal Track Safety (PTS) certification. Working towards or holder of IRSE Design Manager Licence, Signalling Principles Designer (A, B, D, or E), and Signalling Design Verifier qualifications.
