Role: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom

Term: Permanent

Salary: GBP 40,000 - GBP 60,000 (dependent on experience)

Responsibilities

• Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
• Designing conveyors and other machinery in the Automation sector
• Liaising with manufacturing providers and clients
• Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports/plans
• Updating 3D models and drawings
• Creating BOMs
• Checking drawings for sign off
• Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects

Qualifications

• At least 5 years' experience in a similar Design Engineering / Mechanical Engineering position
• Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Previous experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
• Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics would be beneficial
• Background in Water related industries would be ideal, specifically waste water
• 5+ years experience with sheet metal design and manufacture
• Proficient in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks and AutoCAD)
• Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes
• Strong theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
• Proficient in MS Office
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work well alone as well as in a small multi-disciplinary team
