Are you an experienced Development Engineer with a passion for new product introduction, validation testing, and cross-functional collaboration? Do you want to work on industry-leading technology for the commercial vehicle, off-highway, and heavy industrial sectors?
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a globally recognised Tier 1 supplier, delivering key components and systems for some of the biggest names in the industry. We are looking for a Senior Development Engineer to join the expanding Engineering team.
The Role:
As a Senior Development Engineer, you will be a key contributor to the global APQP process, ensuring robust design, validation, and integration of new and existing products. You will work hands-on with prototypes, lead test and validation activities, and collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
*
Generate and manage product technical specifications from customer requirements
*
Lead DVP&R (Design Verification Plan & Report) activities
*
Oversee prototype builds, testing, and software validation
*
Support integration of prototypes into customer systems
*
Analyse problems and propose product optimisations
*
Create technical reports and documentation
*
Work closely with cross-functional teams including Quality, Manufacturing and R&D
*
Participate in continuous improvement of products, processes and the engineering environment
Essential Skills & Experience:
*
Degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience)
*
3+ years’ experience in a similar engineering environment
*
Strong understanding of New Product Introduction (NPI) processes
*
Knowledge of validation and testing methodologies for vehicle components
*
Experience with CAN integration and digital communication protocols
*
Skilled in data acquisition, processing and DOE tools
*
Confident communicator with excellent report writing skills
*
Able to lead and mentor technician-level staff during development activities
Desirable Experience (Not Essential):
*
LabVIEW or similar test automation tools
*
Understanding of electronic components and PCBA testing
*
Experience with embedded systems and microcontrollers
*
Electrical testing, validation and HV vehicle systems knowledge
*
Compliance experience (CE, UKCA, EMC, RoHS, etc.)
*
Familiarity with motors, drives, and sensorless control systems
