Senior DevOps Engineer with strong Kubernetes knowledge/experience and experience with infrastructure as Code development (Terraform) is needed to support our Higher Education client to implement infrastructure as code pipelines for deploying research-supporting applications within social science applications.

The Senior DevOps Engineer will be responsible for implementing infrastructure as code pipelines for deploying research-supporting applications and associated services on private cloud (on-prem) infrastructure using Virtual Machines and Kubernetes.

Essential Experience

• Experience deploying applications with Kubernetes
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code development (Terraform)
• Ability to liaise with end-users to gather requirements, ensuring that application deployments meet their needs and that available resources are used efficiently
• Experience of working on Virtualisation projects, awareness of VMware
• Experience of using Ansible and GitHub

Desirable Experience

• Knowledge of public/private cloud
• Experience within a Higher Education environment, particularly working with research/academic stakeholders to translate their requirements into technical solutions
• Knowledge of python and Rstudio or Rancher or Kubernetes cluster on Harvester

Hybrid working with 1-2 days per week on site in central London. Pay rate £600-£655.00 per day inside IR35 - 4 month contract
