Senior DevOps Engineer – Location: Scotland, Hybrid
Salary: Up to £80,000 (depending on experience)
Duration: Permanent, Full Time

A well-recognised and growing organisation is investing heavily in technology and is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join their expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of cloud solutions, drive innovation, and lead the development of secure, reliable infrastructure to support continued business growth.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of cloud and infrastructure environments.
  • Work with development, operations, and security teams to deliver scalable, automated, and resilient platforms.
  • Support CI/CD processes, infrastructure-as-code practices, and ongoing system optimisation.
  • Mentor junior team members and promote best practice across the technology function.
  • Manage supplier and tooling relationships to ensure platforms remain current and innovative.
  • Ensure solutions are well-documented, monitored, and compliant with industry standards.
  • Provide 3rd line technical support and contribute to improving system reliability and performance.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience in DevOps or cloud engineering roles, with a strong background in modern infrastructure.
  • Solid understanding of containerisation, orchestration, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and monitoring tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in both Agile and traditional delivery environments.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to balance technical detail and big-picture thinking.

Desirable skills

  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
  • Scripting or programming skills (e.g. Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and container security best practices.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards, ITIL, or other governance frameworks.
  • Relevant cloud or DevOps certifications.
