Senior DevOps Engineer | Up to £100k | London (2–3 days onsite)

We’re helping a UK scale-up hire their first in-house DevOps engineer. They’ve built a secure messaging platform that’s already live with thousands of users and they’re scaling hard. Right now one consultant runs all their infra and pipelines. This hire is about bringing that knowledge in-house and making it rock solid.

You’ll sit alongside the backend team and take full ownership of infrastructure and CI/CD. It’s fast-paced, ambitious, and mission-critical. The platform is used by enterprise and government clients who care about security and uptime.

What you’ll be doing

• Running and scaling containerised infrastructure on GCP/AWS.
• Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions
• Managing Kubernetes clusters, image pipelines, scaling, rollouts, rollbacks, ingress, and service-to-service networking
• Defining infrastructure as code in Terraform
• Owning monitoring and alerting (Prometheus/Grafana), plus backups and disaster recovery
• Handling object storage (S3-style) and data flows across multiple environments

What they’re looking for

• Strong DevOps / platform background in product teams moving fast
• Solid experience across either GCP/AWS, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker
• Good fundamentals in security, networking, and cost/performance trade-offs
• Someone who can hit the ground running and work closely with backend engineers

The setup

• Up to £100k + benefits
• 2–3 days a week in their City office
• Three-stage process: informal chat, security lead interview, short take-home task
