Overview

Senior DevOps Engineer role at Resident Advisor (RA). This is a full-time, permanent position in RA's Core Platform team. The role is office based (minimum 3 days/week in-office) with hybrid options available.

RA is a music media brand serving the electronic music community with news, editorial, club listings, ticketing, events, original films, and more. The RA team is looking for a DevOps professional who is passionate about electronic music and capable of scaling high-traffic infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and improve AWS infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code practices
• Database maintenance and query optimization
• Cloud cost optimization and resource efficiency
• Research, plan, and lead improvements to backend infrastructure
• Provide functional and technical training and support to developers
• Write application code to support infrastructure tooling and shared platform services

Required Skills

• Experience working with AWS
• Experience with Kubernetes and containerized application deployment
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code technologies (Terraform preferred)
• Experience deploying and maintaining SQL-based databases (PostgreSQL or MS SQL Server)
• Experience writing production-level application code
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with Git and version control workflows
• Strong documentation writing skills and commitment to knowledge sharing
• Strong interpersonal skills with openness to feedback
• Fluent English communication skills (written and verbal)

Desired Skills

• Experience with both PostgreSQL and MS SQL Server
• Advanced SQL query optimization skills
• Experience deploying and maintaining Kafka for event-driven architectures
• Experience deploying and maintaining ETL pipelines
• Experience with DataDog for monitoring and alerting
• Understanding of Site Reliability Engineering principles and best practices
• Experience with backend languages such as C# and Node.js
• Experience with scripting languages (Bash, Python, PowerShell)
• Experience managing high-traffic systems with significant load variations

Salary and Location

This is a full-time, permanent role based in London, Manchester, Berlin, or Madrid. Salary ranges:

• London: £60,000 – £75,000
• Manchester: £50,000 – £65,000
• Berlin: €60,000 – €75,000
• Madrid: €60,000 – €75,000
